Most of the letters in the Menya alphabet shown above have the same sounds that they have in Tok Pisin. Therefore, people who can already read Tok Pisin should be able to also learn to read Menya with the help of the Kisim save long ritim tokples booklet that is on the left below. It begins by looking at the letters that have the same sound in both languages. It then looks at the letters that are very similar before teaching the letters ä and ŋ that are new. The second part of the book contains some reading exercises.

The picture dictionary that is below and on the right shows pictures from many parts of Menya life, and gives the name of the item or activity in Menya, Tok Pisin and English.
